The Wadkin portal drilling machine is currently undergoing a rebuilding process, including the grinding of all slides and the fitting and hand-scraping of all new ant-friction counter surfaces in order to accurately align the geometry of the machine. The Fanuc CNC system and electrical system as originally fitted in 2007/8 will again be installed on the machine, with new wiring throughout.
